SHINee.......I am totally head over heels with this Korean group. Not only they are so cute and adorable, they also have a very nice and sweet voice. They have many talents too. Not to forget, their great personality. I'm just can't get their names off my brain. SHINee's Onew, Taemin, Jonghyun, Minho and Key,sarang-hae. They just totally awesome. huhuhu...
OK, enough with the girlish comment about them. Undeniably, Korea's entertainment industry is just so different from ours. It's like the sky and the earth. huhu... Their songs, movies and dramas are such a hit nowadays. They really did their best in whatever they do. Before, whenever I was on YouTube I will search for Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus and many more artist from the west. I thought that Hollywood was the only place on earth producing high quality artist. But now, it will be all from Korea- K-pop, K-drama and also K-movies. It made me realize that Asian can also competing with the westerner although westerner outnumbered them.
The list of differences of entertainment industry of Korea and Malaysia would be endless. In Korea, their artist would be chosen through audition. The company aiming for some talented kid so that they can be polished to be a great entertainer. The chosen people will be trained for quiet some time, some were trained for over 10 years. The company wanted to produce high quality artist, not only having good looks but also being able to sing and dance. They have what some said, full asset.
On the other hand, in Malaysia, it will be all about the looks. Even though kindergarten kids sounds much better than them, they were still chosen just because of their looks. This kind of entertainer will not having a bright future, for sure. The mushrooming of reality shows like AF and Mentor will only make matter worse. Not only the way of winner chosen are questionable, but also the objective of this kind of program which is all about the 'green' from the SMS voting. There were just too many of them who only rely on their looks to get on the shows. Instead of producing more bad quality artist, they should be polishing them more.
In conclusion, taking Korea as an example, our entertainment industry will be able to cast the net wider. Remember, being an entertainer is not just about the looks, it also about how they present themselves.
